The file reader supports ReCap files. The ReCap file formats are RCS and RCP. RCS file format is a single point cloud scan. RCP file format is a project file that points to the individual scan files and contains information about them. This file reader differs from other file readers supplied with Autodesk Navisworks.
- LAZ file is a LASzip Compressed Lidar Data. Lidar (LIght Detection And Ranging) is a remote sensing technology that measures distance by illuminating a target with a laser and analyzing the reflected light. The LAS file format is a public file format for the interchange of LIDAR data between vendors and customers.

- New options are available for creating free vertical curves. You can now create an entity-based free circular vertical curve or free parabolic vertical curve by selecting a pass through point in the drawing.
- A new command is available for converting free vertical curves (created with the new Free Vertical Curve (Circular) command or the new Free Vertical Curve (Parabola) command) which use a pass through point as their constraint type to curves that use length as their constraint type. This command is intended to provide backward-compatibility with previous versions of the application.
- You can now unlock and change the constraint types of vertical curves in the Profile Layout Parameters dialog box.
- A new command is available for extending fixed and floating profile entities to the extents of the profile view.
- Options are now available for controlling how layout profile geometry is anchored in relation to the associated alignment. You can now specify an option to lock profile geometry points to the previous alignment geometry points, or to the alignment start.
- When you project a solid to profile view, the projection can now be created to represent the solid exactly where the alignment crosses it by selecting the Section check box in the projection style.
Hopefully someone can help me with a couple of questions I had regarding importing .rcp files into autocad.
My buddy has a business laser scanning building's using a Faro laser. I've received the fls scans and imported and indexed all the scans into Recap. These scans are going to a construction company as they are doing preservation of the scanned building, by putting the files onto a USB drive. From there, the construction company will import these scans into autocad.
Here are my questions:
What files do they need in order to open up the scans in autocad . As of right now, I have the rcp files and the support files I was going to send them on one drive.
I've opened up the rcp file in autocad, but the scans in autocad show neighboring points that were picked up during the initial scanning. In Recap, I used the limit box to show the building itself, why are there extra points showing up in autocad?
Are rcs files better to send then rcp files?

Any help would be great, thank you.
